Have you ever wondered what your child was wandering around with at the dinner table when he started saying things like "VR" or "RPG"? 

If so, you are not alone. "VR" and "RPG" are not new messaging abbreviations - they are playful symbols and this article will introduce you to some common forms.

If you've at least thought about the Internet when you heard "VR" or "RPG" anyway, you're on the right track.

 The online environment choice, "VR" or "RPG" - which means to represent reality and role-playing - are just two aspects of the finished gaming world.

 The days of playing scrabble in front of the fireplace are over for today’s generation, but we don’t believe you’ll hear a lot of people complaining about it.

 Today's generation is fascinated by online games - the opportunity to play online games with hundreds of people at a time.

Available to anyone with a computer and a fast internet connection, there are thousands of online games available for play by anyone… sometimes for free and sometimes for a fee.

 They range from the classic family board game to the extraordinary and complex games that require a hundred page booklet to understand. One thing they all have in common though is that it's fun to play.

The most common type of online game you can get into is Flash game - usually found on educational sites or on Yahoo! of children for example. 

These games may or may not involve other players, but they are always full of color, quick to download, and fun to play. 

As they run within a web browser, no special equipment is required. These are simple games - more interesting than testers, but no harder to play than chess.

Some online games are more violent than the ones we described above and are similar to the “shoot-em-up” games found on the original Nintendo and Playstation programs. 

Designed with first-person perspective, the player tends to move around the screen like a hand-held weapon - changing weapons from time to time as the game mode allows. 

The violence in these games varies from minor to minor, and as a parent, you are warned to watch out for your children's access to them - especially as these games are played online with other people.

Next, in the case of hardship or violence, comes a real-life drama with role-playing games that we have introduced earlier. 

These types of games require a large amount of time spent online because players take on the role of the game character in play. Players work hard to build a list of weapons or skills - nothing can be done in 30 minutes or less.

 Then they continue to interact with other characters that increase game time even longer if they stop. Both real gambling and role-playing require and encourage organized thinking, but as parents, you may not be relieved by the extreme violence in some of these games. 

And don't be put off by the time that these types of games don't take place. Depending on the difficulty of the game, any one person can spend at least six months in the game and reaching thousands of other players simultaneously does not make it easy to get out of them.
